Like my Pompeii tour in 2017, this tour was done through Andante Travels. They are a company based in the UK that specializes in archaeological tours. Over the course of the tour we visited a variety of sites throughout the island of Sicily, including:

Palermo

Monreale

Segesta

Selinus (Selinunte)

Agrigento

Piazza Armerina

Syracuse (Siracusa)

We were accompanied on this tour by Dr Denise Allen, a British archaeologist with a wealth of experience, including excavations at such famous sites as Stonehenge. We were also accompanied by our tour manager Michela O’Brian, who made sure all of us were comfortable and looked after. The group included a total of 28 people, including our guides.

We were also accompanied on this tour by the famous British author Lindsey Davis, who has written a lengthy series of detective novels set in ancient Rome.

I was also accompanied on this tour by my Dad, Carl. We both enjoyed the sights and the history, but we enjoyed the father-son time even more.
